Experimenting with your airbrush tattoo paints. Be sure to see how they all mix!

When you first get your paints, you will be very excited and it is fun to see what they look like.  And this is good, you want to experiment with them.

One key experiment is to test and find the translucency of each color.  If you do this then you can make better tattoos by knowing what colors, when sprayed over top of each other, do to each other color.

Don’t worry, I will give you an example of what I mean.  In the video below I talk about this.  But I will tell you again here.

If you have a color, like yellow, that is very translucent (in other words “see through”), if you spray that color over another color, it wont become yellow.  It will become a mixture of the two colors.  With my paint, if I spray yellow over red I get orange, if I spray yellow over pink I get bright orange, if I spray yellow over blue I get green.  But if I spray red, which is non-translucent, over  pink, I get red; if I spray it over yellow, I get red; If is spray it over blue I get red.  But if I spray it over green or black, it will become an ugly mess, this is due to the black and green being MORE opaque than the red. (Opaque is the opposite of translucent).

So as you can see, it will take some time to figure out what each color will and can do.  This will prevent you from making mistakes while at a show.  So I highly suggest you just have some fun with your new paints on some paper.  Just spray away, spray colors over other colors, just see what happens!
